Lizzie Grant : Lana Del Ray :: Stefani Germanotta : Lady Gaga
Why does one work better than the other? Better publicists? Better live performances? Better branding? Gaga gets credit where Del Ray won’t for being a better artist overall, of course, but packaging is packaging, isn’t it?
Before an entire team of publicists, Gaga was performing as the next singer/songwriter/Sara Bareilles type. Lana Del Ray’s music is pretty much the same as before the millions were pumped into her look (and lips?)
Just saying.
Before there was Lana Del Ray… there was creepy Lizzy Grant. I like the blonde hair better than the red curtains and fake lips. The monotone singing is still the same.
