Why does one work better than the other? Better publicists? Better live performances? Better branding? Gaga gets credit where Del Ray won’t for being a better artist overall, of course, but packaging is packaging, isn’t it?
Before an entire team of publicists, Gaga was performing as the next singer/songwriter/Sara Bareilles type. Lana Del Ray’s music is pretty much the same as before the millions were pumped into her look (and lips?)
Just saying.
I’m 90% sure gays would no longer be (in existence) if Gaga ended up being a Missy Higgins / Sara Bareilles type.
I really love this song… no surprise there.
